My Story

I started my mindfulness and yoga journey back in 2020, during the covid pandemic when I was stuck at home and out of work.  During this time, I fell in love with yoga and enjoyed the feelings of calm and being able to take control of my thoughts by focusing on the breathing and meditation. This prompted me to take courses in teaching yoga and also to qualify as a mindfulness coach so I could pass on this knowledge to others.  I was previously a hair and beauty specialist and loved helping people achieve their looks, however when covid hit, I decided that it wasn’t for me anymore and wanted to have a more meaningful approach to life and connect with nature.  I love being outdoors in the fresh air and the feeling of being grounded to the earth.  I especially love being near the sea.  I have recently qualified in Reiki healing and using this to help others.

I am from Glasgow originally and now live and work in Kilmarnock, Scotland.  I continue to use the mindfulness techniques to keep myself focused and grounded in the present.  I am always advancing my wellbeing knowledge with my yoga teachings and Reiki healing. I have always loved helping others and knowing you can make a difference to someone’s life in a deeper way is what makes it worthwhile.

Where to start

The best way to get started with mindfulness is to just stop what you are doing, sit/lay down in a room where you feel safe, and stay there.

We are here to help you begin and cultivate your mindfulness practice, and support you in your journey to better health and well-being.

Begin

Sit down or lie down and focus on slowing your breath. Inhale for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, and repeat. After a few repetitions, slow your breath to 6 seconds,
pause for 1 second in between each breath and exhale for 4 seconds. Focusing on long,
slow, even breaths.

Keep going

You have no agenda but to sit and breathe, while remaining still and paying attention to your body’s rhythms. When your thoughts
begin to wander, simply focus on the breath.

Be Kind to yourself

Do not reprimand yourself, simply, consciously shift the attention back to your inhales and exhales. If you feel like continuing after your timer goes off, you may.
